2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab Interior Room & Cargo Space

The 2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab offers room for five or six people and comes standard with cloth upholstery. While both trucks' front seats offer 43.9-inches of legroom, it's the F-150 SuperCab back seat that is different. In the SuperCab F-150 truck, you will find 33.5-inches of rear legroom, while the hip room, shoulder room, and headroom all appear to be about the same.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Interior Room & Cargo Space

Ford F-150 SuperCrew trucks have a lot more rear passenger room, with 43.6-inches of rear legroom. That's a difference of more than ten inches compared with the SuperCab models, even though the rest of the measurements are relative. There's also the option to seat five or six people. Plus, with the higher-end trim levels available on the SuperCrew, you have far more options for tech and connectivity features.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab Engines & Powertrain

There are five powertrain options you can choose with your new Ford F-150 SuperCab model. There's a 3.3L 290-horsepower V6, which is the standard engine on the XL and XLT, plus a 2.7L 325-horsepower twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 standard on the Lariat, the 250-horsepower turbodiesel, a 400-horsepower EcoBoost V6 standard on the Limited trim, or the 400-horsepower V8 engine standard on the King Ranch and Platinum trims. With the base engine and rear-wheel-drive, you can expect 20 city/24 highway mpg. You can't configure your F-150 SuperCab with the all-new PowerBoost full-hybrid V6 engine.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Engines & Powertrain

The 2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew is available with six engine options, including all of the same powertrains as the SuperCab plus the new hybrid powertrain. You can only choose the all-new PowerBoost Hybrid engine that utilizes a larger EcoBoost V6 and an electric motor to produce 430 horsepower on the SuperCrew cab configuration. This F-150 hybrid powertrain achieves 24 mpg in the city or on the highway, making it extremely fuel-efficient for such a hard-working truck.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab Towing Capacity & Payload

The SuperCab F-150 can tow up to 14,000 pounds when equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, rear-wheel-drive (4x2), and the 8-ft. box. The highest payload with this truck is 3,010 pounds when equipped with the 5.0-liter V8, rear-wheel-drive, and the 8-ft. box. Generally speaking, the SuperCab F-150 trucks tend to haul more but tow less than the SuperCrew. No matter which cab style you choose on your F-150, rest assured that it will help you get the job done.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Towing Capacity & Payload

You will notice comparable towing and payload numbers with the SuperCrew, but most SuperCrew F-150 configurations have a higher tow rating across the board than the SuperCab trucks. The max tow rating is still 14,000 pounds with the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost and rear-wheel-drive, but you can choose between the 5.5" bed or the 6.5" bed. For the max payload rating of 2,900 pounds, you will want the 5.0-liter V8 engine, rear-wheel-drive, and the 6.5" bed.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab Exterior Dimensions

The exterior dimensions change when examining the extended cab vs. crew cab Ford models. If you want an F-150 long bed extended cab truck, you will have to go with the SuperCab. It's available with either an 8-foot or 6-foot-5-inch bed. In total, a SuperCab with the 8-foot bed measures 250.3" long, 79.9" wide, 77.1" high, and has a 163" wheelbase with 8.7" of ground clearance.

2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Exterior Dimensions

You can't get a Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab with an 8-ft. truck bed because this cab configuration is only available with the 6-foot-5-inch and 5-foot-6-inch beds. The new Ford F-150 SuperCrew with the larger of the two beds measures 243.7" long, 79.9" wide, 75.7" high, and has a 157" wheelbase that matches 8.4" of ground clearance.

SuperCab or SuperCrew: Which 2021 Ford F-150 Should You Buy?

There are three main differences between the F-150 SuperCab vs. SuperCrew that you should consider before buying. First is the interior space. While both have room to seat up to six people, the SuperCrew offers far more rear-passenger legroom. The second consideration is the number of trim levels available. You can only get the SuperCab with a few trim levels, but you can opt for a higher-end model with the SuperCrew. If you desire luxury features and amenities, you will want to choose the SuperCrew with the Platinum or Limited trim level.

Finally, the truck bed is going to be different based on which configuration you choose. While the SuperCab comes with the three truck bed sizes, the SuperCrew only includes the two smaller ones. If you have a lot of cargo to haul, you might need access to that larger bed. Choosing between the 2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab vs. Supercrew really comes down to your needs and what you plan to use the pickup for.
